主讲人：米歇尔·伯格瑞 Michelle Bogre

       帕森斯设计学院教授、前摄影系主任，同时是作家、纪实摄影家、版权律师，著有《行动主义摄影》（Photography As Activism: Images for Social Change）和《摄影4.0——21世纪的摄影教育导论》( Photography 4.0: A Teaching Guide for the 21st Century，两书均为Focal Press出版》，前者梳理了纪实摄影的发展历程，并提出了当前纪实摄影的最新时态为行动主义摄影，后者就21世纪摄影教育存在的问题，访谈了十多个国家领先的摄影导师，提出了多方面令人深受启发的建议和方案。此次，她被邀请作为上海第十三届国际摄影艺术展览纪实类评委。

Michelle Bogre is a photo educator, documentary photographer, writer and copyright lawyer. She is currently an Associate Professor in the photography program at Parsons The New School for Design.Prior to assuming her faculty role, she was Chair of the Photography Department for 14 years. Her first book, Photography as Activism, was published by Focal Press in 2011. Her photographs and articles have appeared in national magazines such as Time, Newsweek, Paris Match, Stern, U.S. News and World Report, Popular Photography, American Photo and American Photo on Campus, for which she is a contributing editor. Her photographs have been exhibited in solo and group shows.

Activist Photography and the 

Construction of Public Memory

      自摄影发明以来，它帮我们创建了社会和历史的记忆。然而我们越来越意识到照片可能不是真的，所以我们的记忆有多少是假的呢？这种认知是否会打破图像与观者之间脆弱的关系？ 本讲座探讨了什么是社会记忆，摄影是如何帮助我们形成社会记忆的。为什么摄影在记忆捕捉上的能力是独一无二的，摄影又为何可以影响记忆。通过调查形像表象和假设，探讨照片与记忆之间的关系：“事实上，照片很少是虚构的，而是它显示出了多层面的真理。”

       9月12日，让我们一起聆听米歇尔·伯格瑞讲述她的摄影观点，进一步了解行动主义摄影的历史源流、其在今天的动向及对社会记忆的构建。

 Almost since its invention, photography has helped us create our public and historical memory.   Yet we are increasingly aware that photographs may not be true so how much of our memory is false?  Should  this knowledge shatter the fragile relationship between the image and the viewer?  This lecture explores how memory is formed and why photography is unique in its mnemonic capacity.  It explores the relationship between photographs and memory through investigating iconic imagery and posits that, in fact, photographs are seldom “false”,  rather they register as several layers of truth .
